For a photography project we need your help to find authentic craftsmanships which are still active. Fascinating places where workmen are following ancient techniques to produce their products. These old working places are exactly like the old days with no transforming to current times and have NOT been abandoned.
For example the crafts can be; builders of violins, makers of classic watches, forgotten printing techniques, stained glass setters, and so on. Sofar we have locations in The Netherlands, Portugal and Italy. If you know such fantastic locations please send me a message, firstname.lastname@example.org or call me, 0031 (0)6 41202562
Thanks in advance for your support and help!
Sometimes abandoned places are housing strange unexpected things such as dozens of men and woman mannequins. This old forgotten part of a still active Eastern European prison is intriguing and creepy as well. Please have some respect not to stare at their private parts!
The Prison Mannequins will be show at the KunstRai Amsterdam by Eduard Planting - Fine Art Photographs (Booth - 76). The artfair also known as Art Amsterdam and is open from 31 May - 05 June. Free tickets including the opening can be downloaded here …
With the release of our first book "Manmade / no human" and solo exhibition at the Eduard Planting Gallery we had lots of attention in the following media; De Telegraaf, Het Parool, FD Persoonlijk, Publish creative magazine, Fonk magazine, Playboy Nederland, Noord-Hollands dagblad, P/f magazine and numerous websites and blogs. Thanks you very much for sharing and spreading my photography!
Below you can find some of the articles but, only in Dutch unfortunately.
PREVIEW OF THE BOOK, CHAPTER 4: STEEL GIANT
At the bottom of the Extended Gallery there are 5 abandoned locations added. There not recent photographed but from the large archive. Zeche Rurh, Leaken Crypte, Diesel Locomotives, Abandoned Buses and the Broken pottery. More from the archive will follow.. Enjoy!
Zeche Black Dust was active till june 2008 and was the last productive coalmine in this German region. The mine opened in 1927 but was flooded in the beginning and in 1930 reopened again. It produced 3 mil tons a year in 1968. At the moment of exploration the large site was under demolition and heavily guarded to keep copper thieves away. But also to behold intruders for demolition dangers.
