Recently we have photographed a charming and beautiful casino from ancient times. Perched on a cliffside overlooking the sea, the impressive building with art deco shapes and details are still in tact despite having shuttered decades ago. The building is in desperate need of investors who might protect or reconstruct this piece of heritage. In order to prevent more damage but also against vandalism the place is guarded 24h and also monitored.
Sometimes abandoned places are housing strange unexpected things such as dozens of men and woman mannequins. This old forgotten part of a still active Eastern European prison is intriguing and creepy as well. Please have some respect not to stare at their private parts!
The Prison Mannequins will be show at the KunstRai Amsterdam by Eduard Planting - Fine Art Photographs (Booth - 76). The artfair also known as Art Amsterdam and is open from 31 May - 05 June. Free tickets including the opening can be downloaded here …
For a photography project we need your help to find authentic craftsmanships which are still active. Fascinating places where workmen are following ancient techniques to produce their products. These old working places are exactly like the old days with no transforming to current times and have NOT been abandoned.
For example the crafts can be; builders of violins, makers of classic watches, forgotten printing techniques, stained glass setters, and so on. Sofar we have locations in The Netherlands, Portugal and Italy. If you know such fantastic locations please send me a message, firstname.lastname@example.org or call me, 0031 (0)6 41202562
